SAW Video Media Arts Centre seeks a Programming Coordinator to plan and implement our 2016 media arts programming.

The Programming Coordinator will: oversee all aspects of media art programming at SAW Video including screenings; plan and organize other media art programming including master classes and artist talks; write promotional and critical text on programming events; oversee the design and production of programming materials; and foster collaborations with presenting partners locally, nationally, and internationally, etc.

Duration: 30 weeks
Hours of work: 30 hours per week, 10:00am to 5:00pm, Tuesday to Friday
Salary: $17 per hour
Start and end dates: May 25th to December 16th, 2016

Please note: This is an internship position. Candidates must be between the ages of 18-30, legally entitled to work in Canada and have graduated from college or university in the past 24 months.


The selected individual will have:

  • A university or college diploma in fine arts or media studies;
  • Experience in event planning and in festival or gallery programming;
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage several tasks simultaneously;
  • Knowledge of the contemporary Canadian media arts;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products as well as familiarity with Photoshop;
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently and collaboratively;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Fluency in French would be a strong asset.
