Programming Assistant

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

SAW Video Media Arts Centre seeks a Summer Student to assist with various activities and logistics throughout the summer months. This will include assisting the Director of Programming with coordinating and implementing SAW Video events associated with Canada Scene, Asinabka Film and Media Arts Festival, and our annual outdoor screening. The programming assistant will also help to plan for future exhibitions that will take place in 2018 in SAW Video’s new media art gallery, opening in late 2017. Responsibilities associated with this task will include processing exhibitions, and seeking out new avenues to promote the center’s open calls. The Programming Assistant will also assist with SAW Video’s relocation into its new facility, which will take place over the summer. They will specifically oversee the migration of our extensive tape archive into a new location. They may also be tasked with generating online content such as writing articles or producing informational videos related to the new changes in our facilities.

 

The student must be:

  • Under 30 years of age.
  • Registered full time post-secondary student.
  • Returning full time to school in the fall of 2017.

Duration: 12 weeks (June 5th – August 25th)

Hours of work: 30 hours per week, 11:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday

Salary: $13.50 per hour

Start date: June 5th, 2017
