This Introductory Video Production Workshop will focus on the use of SAW Video’s Black Magic Cinema Camera (BMCC).  It will encompass everything from building the camera (attaching lenses, mounting on a tripod, proper handling), to camera settings, color temperature, and recording formats.  The camera records high quality visually lossless compressed CinemaDNG RAW and Apple ProRes 422 (HQ), in HD and 4k.  This Workshop will discuss the best colour temperature settings for various indoor/outdoor situations, as well as the pros and cons of different recording formats and the workflows that would accompany those formats.  This Workshop will also incorporate various microphones compatible with the BMCC, as well as simple lighting setups for any shooting location.

The Blackmagic Production camera comes equipped with the Canon 17-55EFS ultrasonic zoom lens. The EF compatible lens mount accommodates a range of high quality optics that is designed to take advantage of the large super 35 size sensor with minimal cropping.  The camera captures to a removable SSD means that once you’ve finished shooting you can simply connect the SSD to your computer and edit or color correct your shots straight from the disk.
