News EXTENDED SUMMER HOURS Starting Saturday June 21st, SAW Video will be extending its hours of operations. SAW Video will be open on Saturdays from 11am until 5pm. As usual, returns take place before 1pm, where pickups will take place between 1pm and 5pm.

News NEW SONY EX1 TAPELESS HD CAMERA AVAILABLE NOW! SAW Video has made the exciting move to tapeless HD with the purchase of a Sony PMW-EX1 HD camera. The EX1 is a broadcast quality camera with three ½-inch CMOS sensors, each with an effective pixel count of 1920x1080 to produce images in full HD resolution. The EX1 is loaded with great features including multiple frame rate recording capability such as 59.94i, 50i, and native 23.98P, as well being 1080i/720P switchable. There is also a choice of a 35Mb/s High Quality mode or a 25Mb/s, HDV 1080i compatible mode. The EX1 is completely tapeless and records onto memory-based SxS cards. We have an eight GB card and a sixteen GB card, for a total recording time of 84 minutes at highest quality. The EX1 camera package will be available for rental starting on June 13th for $100.00 per day, and includes a Sachtler DV 4ll tripod, a wide angle lens adapter, two SXS cards, two batteries and a charger. The camera will also come with a laptop, when available, for storage of media in the field. The EX1 can also be rented as a kit, which includes other production accessories such as lights and audio equipment for a cost of $125.00 per day. SAW Video will be purchasing a tutorial DVD on the functions and use of the camera, which will be available for sign out to members. We will also be offering clinics on the camera so please keep an eye on our website for upcoming clinic dates.
