Workshop
Grant Writing for Media Artists
This popular workshop is designed to help media artists represent their projects clearly and concisely. Veteran filmmaker and SAW Video Director Penny McCann will take emerging film and video makers through the process of applying to art councils and cultural agencies for funding. Focus for the workshop will be on upcoming grants to the Canada Council and the Ontario Arts Council.
Participants will learn the do's and don'ts of grant writing (aka "Penny's Principles of Grant Writing") and see examples of successful proposals, complete with budgets, schedules, and project descriptions. They will learn about the jury process and how to effectively present support material.
Participants should bring a one page project description ready for review in one-on-one sessions - complete proposals are also welcome.
