This Workshop will focus on the role of the Director of Photography (DOP) during Video production, including movement and composition, framing, tonal balance, artistic lighting, and colour and contrast.  The main purpose of this workshop will be to provide students with technical and aesthetic knowledge of cinematography and lighting. This will be accomplished by screening and studying clips from international cinema productions, film history masterpieces, and more recent contemporary work.  This will also be achieved by hands on practical work with camera and lighting equipment, and set-up exercises geared towards teaching how to achieving cinematic stylistic unity in different film styles, such as: Documentary, Cinema Verite, Drama, Experimental, etc.
