Fundamentals of Visual Storytelling

green_book

The Job of The Director of Photography, also known as the DP or the Cinematographer, assists the film’s Director by establishing a visual look for the production. As a DP, you help tell the story through the artistic and technical decisions made regarding lighting, film stocks, HD resolutions, shot selection, camera movement and much more.

In this workshop, participants will explore cinematography through a stronger understanding of colour, exposure, camera movement, perspective, shutter speed, composition, depth of field, focus, and frame rate. We will view and discuss how these elements affect your shots through visual examples and production theory.
