Editing from an Artist's Viewpoint

A seminar with Aleesa Cohene (Toronto)

Presented with the support of the Canadian Film Institute's Café Ex series

As both a media artist and a professional editor, Aleesa Cohene has a lot to say about images. In her artistic practice, she works with found media to build an emotional language through which to explore contemporary political paradigms. As In-House Editor at Charles Street Video, a media arts centre in Toronto, Aleesa works on other artists' projects, and teaches courses and workshops on video editing and theory in diverse local educational settings.

In this two hour seminar, Aleesa Cohene will focus on researching and structuring footage, emotion-based editing and narrative structure, concepts and techniques of music remixing, sync sound vs. sound effects and design.

Admission is free but rsvps are requested. RSVP to Erin Kelly at erin@sawvideo.com

Be sure to check out Aleesa's screening on Feb. 28th at 7:30 at Club SAW.
