Flying Camera workshop

In this two-evening flying camera workshop, you will learn how to operate an unmanned aerial vehicle to take photos/video safely and creatively both indoors and out.

The main topics covered will include:

  • An overview of current safety regulations and what it takes to operate legally
  • A focus on the most common uav sytems offered by DJI
  • Indoor flight safety and operation of an ultralight uav
  • Shooting and post production techniques

This workshop will use a DJI Spark Drone as well as some fpv gear.  All equipment will be provided by the instructor.

Instructor

Jake Hanna is an Ottawa-based video artist that has been involved with SAW Video for over 15 years.  His work spans the gamut of spectacle from commercial productions to art house experimentation.  He has also been operating unmanned aerial camera systems for 7 years in a variety of environments. From the Arctic chasing down ships to the floods of Chaudiere Falls, he has safely operated and created videos that have been seen by thousands.
