Video Projection with Tagtool Software

Video Projection Mapping is a technique in which objects that are often irregularly shaped, such as the exterior of buildings, small indoor items, sculptures, or theatrical sets, are turned into a display surface for video projection.

Tagtool is software designed for use on iPads and allows users to generate live visuals.  Connect to a projector, and you can “paint” with light, create animated graffiti or tell improvised stories.  Tagtool software can be used in combination with music, used for live performances, or for guerilla interventions.

The goal of this workshop is to teach Indigenous Youth from Ottawa’s Assembly of Seven Generations (A7G) how to use this software, but also for them to prepare and create a “Piece” or “Visual Performance”, that will be showcased at the Asinabka Festival’s Outdoor Winter Snow-Screen On Friday, January 31, 2020.

This workshop is free and only open to Indigenous Youth from A7G.  It will take place at SAW Video and all equipment will be provided.
