Doc on U.S. Election Night 2016 Screens December 6th at The Common Cinema

SAW Video extends The Common Cinema series with a screening of Tonsler Park on Thursday!

Our Knot Project Space is excited to host another screening as part of The Common Cinema, an initiative that has seen the venue operate as a small-scale community movie theatre featuring evening screenings with community partners from November 27 to December 1.

On Thursday, December 6th we’re honoured to present the sixth screening in this free series, renowned American filmmaker Kevin Jerome Everson’s Tonsler Park (2017). The 80-minute black and white film takes place on Election Day 2016 in the United States, fixing an unflinching gaze upon a group of public officials, mainly African-American women, working at a polling station in Charlottesville, Virginia on the eve of the election’s outcome.
