SAW Video and Knot Project Space are proud to have presented a performance by artist, dancer and choreographer Ivanie Aubin-Malo. Responding to and utilizing the layout of our current five-channel video installation by naakita feldman-kiss Wednesdays, Before Piano, Aubin-Malo presented an iteration of her performance work Où sont les ancêtres? .
New Voices is a 6-week Video Production Program for newcomer, refugee and first-generation immigrant youth ages 13 to 24 offered in partnership with YOCISO, the Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization`s Youth Program. Under the guidance of SAW Video instructors, filmmakers Radamis Zaky and Aia Raafat, the ten participants registered for the program will have the opportunity to conceive, shoot, direct, and edit, short videos about their own experiences as newcomers in Canada.
SAW Video Media Art Centre is very pleased to have hosted curator Suzanne Carte, member of the Under New Management collective, whose project Video Rental Store was in operation out of Knot project space. The store was comprised of over 200 rare DVD videos by artists and independent filmmakers who had submitted their work for inclusion in the store over its multiple iterations in different cities.
