Beachcomber, Dave Stone, labels the central basin of the lake which includes Long Point as the The Lake Erie Quadrangle because it has claimed over 429 shipwrecks to date. This documentary, told through the eyes of the charismatic storyteller, Dave Stone, examines the many reasons why Lake Erie is regarded as being more dangerous than the Bermuda Triangle.

Wert is formerly the lead singer of Finnigan's Tongue, a folk-rock group dedicated to writing Canadian history songs. He fell into filmmaking while researching the story of Abigail Becker - a woman who rescued eight sailors from a raging fall storm at Long Point in 1854. Inspired by her story and after meeting the local historian and beachcomber, Dave Stone, decided to make a documentary about the area.
