Technical Assistant and Programming Assistant applications due by May 27th, 2019!

Hours of work: 30 hours per week, 11:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: $15.00 / hour 

Are you under 30, based in the Ottawa-Gatineau area, and interested in work related to media and video arts? Come work at SAW Video Media Art Centre this summer! We're seeking individuals for two great summer jobs: a Technical Assistant and a Programming Assistant.

The Technical Assistant will help out with ongoing technical support services on offer at SAW Video, members services, equipment bookings, equipment/suite maintenance, technical demonstrations and administrative tasks related to rentals. They will also be involved with the implementation of a new equipment database and any corresponding data entry and maintenance, as well as assist in the final stages of development of SAW Video’s audio suite and audio facilities.

The Programming Assistant will shadow and support our Programming Director through the implementation of various summer programming initiatives. These include our off-site Knot Projections public art program, ongoing gallery exhibitions at our Knot Project Space, related discursive events (discussion groups, talks, etc.), and theatrical screenings presented with partnership organisations. Working both collaboratively and independently, the Programming Assistant will assist in the installation of media art exhibitions, oversee the production and online posting of event documentation, visit off-site locations with the Programming Director to execute large-scale public projections, and generally contribute to discussions around the planning of SAW Video’s programming. An interest in the field of media art / experimental moving image, public art, curatorial practice or artist-run culture would be a strong asset.
