Jennifer Mulligan is an award winning screenwriter and creative producer, originally from Shawville, Quebec. In January 2011, she started a screenwriters group, The Writers’ Room Ottawa, to foster the art, business and craft of screenwriting. From 2011 to 2014, Jennifer worked for Alex Epstein (Bon Cop, Bad Cop, Naked Josh) as a Research Assistant and also on interned on several of his short film productions in Montreal and Toronto. In Ottawa, she’s worked on several feature film projects in various roles. In 2014, Jennifer co-founded Ottawa Film Scene (OFS), a promotional tool for Ottawa filmmakers to showcase their work to the world.



Jennifer was a finalist in the Lady Filmmakers Script Competition in 2014 with her script "Minerva's War", which was optioned for production for their Script-to-Screen Program. She is an active member of the Academy of Film Writing 5150 Workshop, and recently took over the leadership transition of the Digi60 Filmmakers Festival, along with fellow screenwriter and producer, Emily Ramsay. As a result of the collaboration between screenwriters and directors through the Ottawa Digi60 Filmmakers Festival, Jennifer has had three of her scripts made into short films, and she produced one of her own scripts in 2013. Of note, Algebra, directed by Jith Paul, screened at various festivals including the Festival International Entr'2 Marches in Cannes (2015), and Mary Mae, directed by Kristian Lariviere, had its US premiere in New York (2012) and was selected by nine international Gay and Lesbian Film Festivals.

She's currently working on a number of feature scripts with directors in the Ottawa area.
